Amreeta is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) who received her Masters of Social Work degree from Wilfrid Laurier University. She has been providing counselling and psychotherapy services in the community for the past twelve years. She has worked at Family Services York Region, providing counselling services to individuals, couples, and families, as well as supervising interns. Amreeta has worked at schools, not only providing counselling to students and their families, but also supporting the teachers and guidance staff. She has facilitated a variety of workshops on topics such as parenting, emotional regulation, bullying and increasing awareness about depression, anxiety and suicide.
Amreeta works with adults and teenagers who are managing with anxiety, depression, stress, perfectionism, shame and low self worth. She provides compassionate, non-judgmental support in helping you get your life back on track. Her passion is being a guide in a person’s journey of growth and self-discovery. That journey may involve learning to listen and value what is true to you, developing self-acceptance to be who you are today and growing compassion for yourself and for others.
Recently, Amreeta received her certification as a Daring WayTM Facilitator. The Daring Way™ curriculum is provided to individuals or groups (workshops, weekend retreats or weekly group). With the use of exercises and discussions, Amreeta will explore topics such as vulnerability, courage, shame, and worthiness with you. You are invited to examine the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that are holding you back and identify the new choices and practices that will move you toward more authentic and wholehearted living.
